Ambatomanga, built on the top of a hill, is located 50 km east of the capital, next to a large granite rock, covered with aloe vegetation. It overlooks the Amparihibe lake, considered sacred, and there is also a cave on the hillside.

The village has preserved its architectural traditions from the last century, with its high, two-storey houses, surrounded by a small balustrade, and with roofs of tiles blackened by time...

Splendid landscapes, low-angle shots of the terraced crops, impeccably worked, where the shades of brown to fluorescent green form astonishing compositions, on a red earth background. Beautiful encounters with the workers of the land: ploughing the soil, planting rice, harvesting.
